Alay sa Bukas

Like change, tomorrow is inevitable and permanent because it has always been constant and an integral part of our lives. Tomorrow’s stability is always part of our plans. The UPLB Alumni Association (UPLBAA) recognizes this concern. The concern for our Alma Mater and the assurance of everlasting camaraderie amongst the alumni are realized with the pursuit of shared  projects and activities. We are all stakeholders of this endeavor. Our future: Ang Ating BUKAS.

BUKAS was conceived to be a powerful tool to communicate, kicking off a useful bridge between the association and the thousands of alumni who have gone far and wide. This will keep alumni posted of what the UPLBAA is doing and what the latest events in the university are.

Our maiden issue of BUKAS highlights a pictorial account of the traditional celebration of Loyalty Day 2015 as chronicled by Rey de la Cruz (’65), chairperson for the event and head of Golden Jubilariian  Class 1965.

For his part, Simeon A. Cuyson ’59, briefly presents State of Affairs and accomplishment of his  seven-year term as President of UPLBAA as well as passing the baton of the on-going projects to the next UPLBAA president. These ongoing  projects need resources for completion and a list was made so that  gift/donations can be directed to projects of one’s interest.

This issue  also features Alumni News from the Colleges compiled by Cora F Azucena ’58. The highlights of success and accomplishments are presented, the details of which may be viewed at (WEBPAGE). An encouraging  “Open Forum” is hosted by Frank Cornejo ’58 In the Q and A corner.  Your views and interests which concerns  the  University/Alumni cooperation are solicited by Carmen M. Paule ’63 in the Alumni Views. These pages came together with the assistance of Edmund G. Centeno ’99., the Managing Editor.

We want to be as exhaustive as we can for the succeeding issues, so we request alumni chapters to contribute articles. BUKAS will come out quarterly and be sent to various chapters here and abroad. This is our magazine, our voice. We should make it great by being a part of it because even the smallest change yields powerful results. We enjoin you to send your views, your life, your memoirs, your greatest achievements. It is imperative for us to be one, to ensure success, today and tomorrow.
